For people who really love to sew - finally a course offered in Melbourne, Australia. Prepare yourself for an intense 6 days to create a fashion classic with haute couture techniques. A calico is prepared ahead of time, which we will fit correctly on your first session. (This will be used to cut the fashion fabric).
Suitable for advanced beginners to advanced sewists.

What you learn and do:
- Fit a calico to your measurements and body shape
- Adapt the sleeve pattern to a 3-piece - common to these jackets
- Learn special haute couture construction techniques that are specific to these jackets
- Learn to apply the trims, buttons and pockets that are essential components of these jackets
- Examine and discuss a number of jackets by "Just Dragana"
What you need to buy:
- Fabric - suitable for Classic French Jacket
- Silk for lining, thread to match, calico for fitting (which is used to cut fashion fabric later)
- Pattern - to be advised
- List of sewing notions - some are available for purchase from me, others from local suppliers
(Advice and guidance will be provided after enrolment confirmed)
What is provided:
- Classes are held in a large Sewing Studio with air conditioning/heating
- Bernina Machines for your use - unless you want to bring your own
- Professional cutting tables, scissors, pressing tools for your use
- Parking on my premises
Course & Cost
- By appointment only and prior arrangement
- Saturday workshops - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (6 hours)
- Maximum 6 students per workshop
- Start any Saturday from March, finishing in November
- You need 6 Saturdays to complete the jacket (there will be homework to do in between each session)
- Each jacket can take 70 to 100 hours to complete - this will vary due to the fabrics used, purchased trim vs self-made trim, your aptitude/skill level and time for homework
$900 for 6 Saturdays
payment in advance (you get one free Saturday via this payment method)

$180 per Saturday Workshop
pay-as-you-go.
Terms and Conditions:
- If you pay $900 up front for 6 Saturdays, you effectively get one free. Full payment required for bookings.
- If you pay-as-you-go $180, payment must be received prior to attending your Saturday session (payments will not be accepted on the day). Prior bookings are essential.
- You can choose which Saturday you want to attend, please book in advance to avoid disappointment - maximum 6 students per workshop - 6 Saturdays to complete your jacket.
Cancellations:
- If you pay in advance for 6 Saturdays, cancellations will be accepted 14 days before your intended start date with a full refund, otherwise you may risk losing part or full payment.
- If you are unable to attend your booked Saturday session - minimum 72 hours (3 days) notice is required - you may book an alternative Saturday
- If you do not advise and you are a no-show, there will be no refunds or make up sessions (as you are taking up a place that another student may have been able to attend)
- No split sessions - your booking is for a 6 hour day - from 10 am to 4 pm.
